To race at national and club meetings you have to have the correct plate. These can sometimes be organised through the club or if you do a bit of hunting on the internet you can find someone who can make them.
When ordering/designing a plate you will need to know the following information:
- The category of plate you require (as per the list below)
- Your chosen number (any number between 50 – 1000). Note, numbers 1-50 are protected for National rankings
Note: Plate numbers must meet the following size and layout format:
- Member club suffix of 25mm minimum height.
- Number of 75mm minimum height by 10mm minimum width.
- Numbers and letters must each be uniform in format, size, colour and be easily read.
Plate categories:
- Men Elite / Women Elite – White Plate, Black Numbers
- Men’s Juniors / Women’s Juniors – Black Plate, White Numbers
- Male 20″ – Yellow Plate, Black Numbers
- Female 20″ – Blue Plate, White Numbers
- Cruisers – Red Plate, White Numbers
Sprocket Level
BMXNZ issued white plate with red numbers or BMXNZ event issued orange plate with black numbers.
Sprockets must ride with their BMXNZ issued Sprocket plate.
Strider Level
White plate with red numbers. Striders may ride with a BMXNZ issued Sprocket plate.
For Challenge riders the number and club suffix area of the plate must be of the correct single solid background colour as stated above. There is no allowance in this area for intrusive colours or logos.
If a rider chooses to ride with a World, Oceania, New Zealand, North Island or South Island ranking this must be proceeded with the correct suffix.
World – W, Oceania – O, New Zealand – NZ, National Series—NS, North Island – NI, South Island – SI.
The ranking prefix must be a minimum of 25mm in height
